Nottingham City Council is sending 250 drones into the sky above the Forest Recreation Ground on Bonfire Night for a 20-minute light show called City of Legends. It runs twice, at 6:30pm and 9:00pm, so you can take the kids to the early one or go to the late one without them.

Vaso moved from Pelham Street into the old Hockley Kitchen and added a brunch menu to its tapas and wine. The French toast comes loaded, the mushroom hash is a vegetarian fry-up that still fills you up, and the mackerel pâté is seaside food landed in the middle of the city.
Walk-in only, 36 outdoor seats, and a wine list built by people who know their wine. Turn up hungry, leave full, come back next week.

This was a school in 1902 and it still has the ceilings to prove it. The living room is vaulted, the window is two storeys tall and the spiral staircase makes your own hallway look like a corridor.
Four double bedrooms, two with en-suites, sit in three-quarters of an acre. The old classroom still stands in the garden, ready to be a home office, a gym or the one room where nobody can find you.
