Things to do in Nottingham this week including: Nottingham Brick Festival, A Outdoor Cinema, And The Foolhardy Folk Festival!

Morning Nottingham! This week’s looking stacked. The Brick Festival is rolling in with more LEGO than your feet can handle, Wollaton’s turning into a giant cinema for Moana 2, and the Arboretum’s getting a folk-fuelled takeover courtesy of Beans on Toast and friends. Throw in ramen that’ll make you forget Pot Noodles exist, rabbit festivals, scone baking, and a cocktail mixer or two, and you’ve got yourself a week where boredom doesn’t stand a chance.

🗓️ WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEK?

🧱 - Nottingham Brick Festival - LEGO Heaven Without Stepping on One
📍 - Harvey Hadden Sports Village
📅 - Sunday 24th August
⏰ - 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
🎟️ - Tickets from £5 (Early Bird £13 with free LEGO gift)
📷 - @brickfestival

Nottingham’s biggest LEGO fan day is back, and it’s packed tighter than your kid’s toy box. Huge displays, rare and retired sets, speed-building competitions, loose bricks by the bucket and enough minifigures to start your own army.

Early birds get in an hour before the crowds and even bag a free LEGO gift. Whether you’re a serious collector, a nostalgic builder, or just here to distract the kids for six hours, this is the one weekend you won’t mind them shouting “can we get this one?” every five minutes.

🍔 SCRUMPTIOUS SCOOP

🍜 - Everyday People – Ramen That Slaps Harder Than Payday Friday
📍 - 12 Byard Lane
⏰ - Lunch: Weds - Sat 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM
⏰ - Dinner: Tues -Sat 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM (kitchen closes earlier midweek)
⏰ - Sunday: 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM
📷 - @everydaypeoplenottingham

Everyday People is all about steaming bowls of ramen and Japanese-inspired small plates built for sharing (or not, no judgement).

The menu shifts with the seasons but you’ll usually find rich tonkotsu broth, crisp karaage chicken, miso-glazed veg, and flavour-packed bites that go down perfectly with a cocktail or cold beer.

A cosy spot that’s just as good for a quick lunch as it is for a long, lazy dinner.

🎭 ACTIVITY ALLEY

🎬 - Moana 2 Under the Clouds at Wollaton Hall
📍 - Wollaton Hall & Deer Park
📅 - Sunday 24th August
⏰ - Gates 1:30 PM - Film 3:00 PM
🎟️ - From £14
📷 - @adventurecinema

Moana and Maui are back, and this time your sofa can’t save you. Adventure Cinema is taking over Wollaton Hall with a giant outdoor screen, so get the picnic blanket, pack too many snacks, and brace for every kid singing at full volume.

Hot food, drinks and a bar are on site, but you can bring your own picnic if you fancy pretending you’re organised. Chairs and blankets encouraged, umbrellas optional. Perfect for families, Disney obsessives, or anyone who still cries at cartoon coconuts.

🎭 FRESH EXPERIENCES

🎶 - Foolhardy Folk Festival - Music, Trees and a Beer in Each Hand
📍 - Arboretum
📅 - Sunday 24th August
⏰ - 12:00 PM
🎟️ - £40 + booking fee, under 11s go free
📷 - @alttickets

Back for its fifth year, the Foolhardy Folk Festival is the Bank Holiday mash-up of music, mates and a park full of good energy. Curated by folk legend Beans on Toast, the line-up features Grace Petrie, The Young’uns, Funke and the Two Tone Baby, Ruth Lyon, Nick Parker and more.

It’s not just the tunes either, expect to see a mini beer festival, tasty street food, and a kids corner so you can enjoy a pint in peace. Family-friendly, folk-fuelled, and one of the nicest ways you’ll ever spend a Saturday!
