Things to do this week: The Sherwood Makers Craft Fair, Stalls From The Crypt and a Winter Cabin Paint Night!
Morning! This week comes in swinging. The Sherwood Makers Fair is stuffing a giant greenhouse with makers, cake and enough temptation to bankrupt a small nation, Stalls From The Crypt is rolling into Canalhouse with the finest goth oddities money probably shouldn’t buy and Pitcher & Piano is hosting a paint night in where your brush technique will echo louder than your dignity. Add the weekly parade of markets, concerts and Christmas warm ups and you’ve got a schedule that rewards anyone who refuses to stay home.

WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEK?
🎁 - Sherwood Makers Craft Fair - Handmade Gifts in a Greenhouse
📍 - Woodthorpe Park Plant Nursery
📅 - Sat 22nd & Sun 23rd November
⏰ - 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
🎟️ - Free Entry
📷 - @sherwoodmakers
Sherwood is back for another festive round inside a giant greenhouse, which is the closest most of us will ever get to feeling tropical in November. More than forty makers will be selling gifts that look far more expensive than they actually are, and Homemade Café will keep everyone going with cake that removes all self control. It is free, it is dangerous for your bank balance and it is the perfect place to pretend you are buying presents for other people.

SCRUMPTIOUS SCOOP
🍽️ - The Grand Bistro & Bar - Food So Good You’ll Briefly Forget Your Problems
📍 - 8 Chapel Bar
📅 - Tue to Thu 11:30 AM to 11:00 PM
📅 - Fri & Sat 11:30 AM to 1:00 AM
📅 - Sun 11:30 AM to 11:00 PM
📞 - 0115 947 5044
📷 - @thegrandbistrobar
The Grand delivers plates that hit hard, cocktails that sneak up on you and service that actually knows what it’s doing. The Christmas menu is already causing trouble, the normal menu covers everything from comfort to show off territory, and the whole place has that polished feel without the attitude. Great for long lunches, loud dinners and pretending your life is more sorted than it is.

ACTIVITY ALLEY
🦇 - Stalls From The Crypt Winter Market - Oddities, Goth Gear and Glorious Weirdness
📍 - Canalhouse Bar
📅 - Sun 23rd November
⏰ - 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM
🎟️ - Free Entry
📷 - @stallsfromthecrypt
Stalls From The Crypt is back and it is bringing the full goth buffet. Rock, punk, steampunk, fantasy, occult and anything that makes your nan quietly lock her doors. It is all tucked upstairs at Canalhouse where you can browse everything from handmade oddities to items that definitely carry a warning label. Free entry, dogs allowed and well behaved children tolerated. Perfect if your festive shopping list includes someone who owns a skull-shaped mug.
FRESH EXPERIENCES
🎨 - Winter Cabin Paint Night - Art, Drinks and a Church That Echoes
📍 - Pitcher & Piano
📅 - Wed 19th November
⏰ - 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM
🎟️ - £33
📷 - @thepaintclub.uk
Pitcher & Piano is hosting a paint night inside an old church which means you can create a serene winter cabin while the room gently echoes every clumsy brush drop and cocktail order. A Paint Club artist will walk you through the whole thing so you will leave with a canvas that is either impressive or impressively questionable. All materials are included, and the drinks menu is there to improve confidence rather than technique. It is relaxed, messy in a wholesome way and perfect for anyone who fancies an evening that feels creative without requiring any actual talent.
