Things to do this week: A Craft & Flea Market, Potato Day, And a New Cafe, Your Bank Card Is Nervous!
Morning! This week is for anyone who likes a plan with a clear payoff. A makers market that starts with browsing and ends with bags, Northern Soul that turns “I’ll just watch” into dancing, and a Potato Day for people who get excited about spuds in January.
Plus, Bonincontro Cafe has also just opened on Pelham Street, so add a new coffee and pastry stop to the list while you’re out.

This one is a full afternoon of wandering past genuinely good local makers and pretending you are only here for a quick lap. Ceramics, prints, candles, jewellery, vintage pieces and plenty of “that would look great at home” moments, even if home is currently a pile of parcels and good intentions. Tickets give you priority entry, and your time slot is arrival only, so you can take your time without anyone rushing you along.

☕- Bonincontro Cafe - New Italian Coffee Spot With Pastries Worth The Detour
📍- Pelham Street
📅- Mon to Sat 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM
📷- @bonincontro.cafe
🌐- bonincontro.co.uk
Bonincontro has only just opened, and it already feels like one of those places people start claiming they “found first”. It is family run, coffee is handled with real care, and there is seating upstairs and downstairs so you can stay a while or keep it moving.
The pastry line up is dangerous: tiramisu, cannoli, pistachio brioche buns and charcoal croissants, plus gianduja for anyone who likes their chocolate with a bit of Italian backstory.

Three coffee beans. Three brothers. One shared love for coffee, family, tradition, and passion.

Northern Live brings the Northern Soul classics with an 11 piece band, four lead vocalists, and a setlist packed with the tunes that turn a seated crowd into a dancing crowd. It is all the big hitters, the kind that make people point at the stage like they personally wrote the chorus.

📍- Sherwood United Reformed Church
📅- Sat 31st Jan
⏰- 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Potato Day is back with 30 plus varieties of seed potatoes, plus onions, shallots and garlic for anyone getting serious about growing this year. There is a pop up cafe for cakes and hot drinks, loads of stalls, and the return of the Potato Games, including mash potato sculpting and guess the weight of the potato, with someone dressed as a potato taking it very seriously. Seed potatoes are sold individually, so you can grab a mix without committing to a full sack.
