Things to do in Nottingham this week including the Nottingham Foodies Festival and The Ultimate Strongman!
Morning, Nottingham! This week’s schedule includes grilling meat while The Wanted 2.0 sing at you, watching strongmen hurl washing machines like it’s no big deal. If that’s not variety, we don’t know what is. There’s also a mini fest for pirate-obsessed kids!
Get outside, grab a napkin (you’ll need it), and don’t be surprised if your weekend ends with a face full of glitter and a phone full of chef selfies.

🗓️ WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEK?
🎤 - Foodies Festival – Boybands, Booze & BBQs You Can’t Afford to Burn
📍 - Wollaton Park
📅 - Friday 27th - Sunday 29th June
📷 - @foodiesfestival
Three days of eating, drinking and pretending you're still 17 when Blue hits the stage. The Wanted 2.0 are in the line-up too, alongside DJ Judge Jules, live chef demos, and more street food than a hungover stomach can handle.
There’s everything from churros to Korean bao, plus enough cocktails to cancel your weekend plans twice. Just pace yourself or you’ll end up salsa dancing with a stick of halloumi.

🍔 - SCRUMPTIOUS SCOOP
🍸 - Loose Ends – Wild Drinks, Castle Views & a Secret Garden
📍 - 92 Friar Lane
⏰ - Thursday: 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM
⏰ - Friday: 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM
⏰ - Saturday: 12:00 PM - 12:00 AM
⏰ - Sunday: 12:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Loose Ends isn’t your average cocktail bar. It’s the kind of place where the drinks have ingredients like sourdough syrup, sesame-washed rye, and pineapple shrubs that sound like they’ve been through therapy. There's a secret garden, a castle view, and a menu full of clever twists made by bartenders who treat cocktails like an Olympic sport. It’s bold, brilliant, and very Nottingham.

🎭- ACTIVITY ALLEY
💪 - UK’s Strongest Man – Biceps, Barrels & a Whole Lot of Grunting
📍 - Motorpoint Arena
📅 - 28th June & 29th June
⏰ - 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM (Doors from 12:00)
🎟️ - From £16
📷 - @officialultimatestrongman
Watch giant men lift things they probably shouldn’t while pyrotechnics blast and the crowd loses its collective mind. From flipping tyres the size of Jacuzzis to casually deadlifting your cousin's Vauxhall Astra, it’s peak human drama in protein-powered slow motion.
VIPs get a two-course lunch and a strongman meet-and-greet, which is basically Tinder for gym bros. Bring your mates, bring the kids, just don’t challenge anyone to an arm wrestle.
🎭 - FRESH EXPERIENCES
🎤 - Little Voices Toton – Big Futures Start With Little Voices
📍 - Greenwood Community Centre
⏰ - Weekly classes from Sept
📷 - @littlevoicesnottslboro
📞 - 07449 990116
📧 - [email protected]
🌐 - littlevoices.org.uk/nottingham-loughborough
Got a drama queen (or king) under 18? Little Voices is launching in Toton this September with singing, acting, and confidence-boosting sessions led by former school vice principal Sammi. Groups are capped at eight kids, so nobody’s lost in the chorus line. LAMDA-qualified, fun-fuelled, and no jazz hands required (unless they want to).
💥 - First taster workshop hits 13th August for £35. Singing, dancing, and possibly shouting “Mummy, I want to be famous!”
🎟️ - Free trials available, but spots go quicker than your patience on the school run.
