Things to do in Nottingham this week: Waterfront Festival, New Coffee Spot and Dinosaur Trails at Wollaton!

Happy Monday, Nottingham! This week’s got everything from four-stage canal-side festivals and dinosaur hunts at Wollaton to moon milk meditations in Bestwood. Whether you’re chasing live music, wrangling the kids with giant lawn games, or checking out Càphinique, a brand new spot turning coffee into an art form, the city’s giving you plenty of reasons to get out. Clear the weekend, because this one’s busy.

🗓️ WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEK?

🎸 - Waterfront Festival - Four Stages. 40+ Acts. One Ridiculous Day You Can’t Afford to Skip
📍 - Canalhouse Bar
📅 - Saturday 2nd August
⏰ - From 12:00 PM
🎟️ - Tickets available online
📷 - @canalhousebar

The Waterfront Festival is back, and it’s bringing four stages, over 40 acts, and a full day of live music to Canalhouse. Now in its 15th year, this canal-side party raises funds for Emmanuel House and Mermaids, so you can feel good about every pint you sink. Tickets usually go fast, so grab yours early and make a day of it.

🍔 SCRUMPTIOUS SCOOP

- Vietnamese Coffee That’ll Ruin Pret for You Forever
📍 - 40 Carrington Street
⏰ - Monday to Sunday 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM
📷 - @caphinique

New rule: you’re not allowed to say you’ve “just grabbed a coffee” if it’s from Càphinique. This new place makes coffee an event, from coconut lattes and rich egg coffee to fruit teas that taste like a holiday in a glass. Grab a bánh mì, maybe some pho, and suddenly your quick pit stop has turned into a full-blown Hanoi lunch.

Monday to Sunday 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM

🎭 ACTIVITY ALLEY

🦖 - Super Summer at Wollaton Hall - Trails, Dinosaurs & Giant Garden Games
📍 - Wollaton Hall & Deer Park
📅 - Until Sunday 31st August
⏰ - Various times
🎟️ - From £2 (Hall admission: Adults £15, Kids Free with a paying adult)
📷 - @wollatonhall

Wollaton Hall is going all-in for the summer holidays with a line-up designed to keep the kids busy and you sane. We’re talking dinosaur galleries, a ‘Superheroes & Superbeasts’ outdoor trail, giant lawn games, dressing up stations, an adventure playground, and 500 acres to explore if they still aren’t tired. Add in a café for refuelling and you’ve got a full day out without touching an iPad.

🎭 FRESH EXPERIENCES

🌿 - Earth & Ether Launch – A Spiritual Gathering in the Woods
📍 - Bestwood Country Park
📅 - Saturday 2nd August
⏰ - From 3:00PM
🎟️ - Free Entry
📷 - @earthandetheruk

Step into something a little different this weekend. Earth & Ether is launching a new sacred space for spiritual gatherings, pagan celebrations, and magickal workshops, and you’re invited. The day includes a cleansing ceremony, herbal teas and moon milk, guided meditation, and even a giveaway for one lucky guest. Whether you’re a seasoned practitioner or just curious about earth-based living, it’s a chance to meet the community and soak up some calming energy in Bestwood’s peaceful surroundings.
