Things to do this week: Ginger's Flea Market, The Dark Arts Market and a A Live Podcast Night With A “Crime”!
Morning! This week is heavy on markets and good excuses to mooch. Ginger’s Flea takes over St Mary’s on Saturday for fashion items from the 60s through to the 90s, and the same weekend also brings the Dark Arts Market at The Old Cold Store if your taste leans a bit moodier. In between, you’ve got big nights out covered too, from Alter Bridge at the arena to Drunk Women Solving Crime live on stage, plus Bramleys if you want cocktails in a setting that feels a bit more grown up.

Ginger’s Flea is basically St Mary’s Church turned into a retro treasure hunt. You’ve got rails of fashion items from the 60s through to the 90s, plus homeware bits, antiques, records, plants, and indie makers selling things that suddenly feel “essential”. There’s street food and coffee to keep you fuelled while you do another lap, and the ticket time is arrival only, so you can stay as long as you like.

Bramleys sits inside The Orchard Hotel and feels like a little hideaway, with an iconic bar, moody lighting, and a menu that’s clearly been thought about. Go for cocktails and small plates, then slide into the more indulgent stuff - scallops, crab, tartare, venison, gnocchi, and rich mains that suit a slower dinner. Great for celebrations, date nights, or when you just want somewhere that feels a bit more pulled together than the usual options.

ACTIVITY ALLEY
🖤 - The Dark Arts Market: Gothic Makers, Tarot, and Jewellery with Attitude
📍- The Old Cold Store (Vat and Fiddle)
📅 - Sat 7th Mar and Sun 8th Mar
⏰ - 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM
🎟️ - Free entry
📷 - @the_dark_arts_market
Two days at The Old Cold Store with around 35 gothic and alternative creators. Dark art prints, handmade crafts, jewellery, tarot, and the sort of pieces you’ll end up wearing on repeat. The space is fully accessible and animal friendly, so it’s an easy one to drop into for a browse, a chat with the makers, and a little treat that feels more interesting than the usual market bits.

The hit comedy podcast is back on tour and it’s recorded live on stage, with two episodes in one night. The hosts bring a guest to help “solve” a crime over a drink or two, and the crowd gets involved too, including a chance to share your own story for a prize. It’s 16 plus with strong language, and there’s an interval, so you can regroup mid case.
