Goose Fair Opens, An Orchestra For Under 6s, Plus Painting A Record You Cannot Play!
Morning! Goose Fair opens on Friday at noon. It takes over nearly 20 acres of the Forest, it costs nothing to walk in, and you will have spent your last tenner by half nine.
Also this week, Matthew Bourne's The Car Man runs at the Theatre Royal from Tuesday to Saturday, there is a 45 minute orchestra for under 6s on Saturday morning, and on Wednesday you can paint a vinyl record with a glass of fizz at Binks Yard, which needs booking ahead.

Goose Fair is back, and at over 700 years old it has been going longer than most countries have existed. It takes over nearly 20 acres of the Forest Rec with more than 400 rides, so standing about looking at your phone is not really an option.
It started life as a livestock market famous for its cheese, which is a fair distance from waltzers and hook-a-duck, but the toffee apples have survived the journey.
Entry is free and you just pay for whatever you go on. There are quiet sessions from 12pm to 1pm on both Sundays, parking gets busy so the tram is your friend, and a word of advice: do the waltzers before the hot dog, not after.
