Things to do this week: Nottingham Motor Show, Back to the 80s Festival and a Matcha Bowl Workshop!
Morning! The East Midlands' biggest motor show takes over Wollaton Park on Sunday with hundreds of classics, supercars, motorbikes and trucks. Free to get in, although the parking charge and the funfair will sort that out quickly enough.
Also this week, an outdoor 80s tribute festival at Binks Yard on Saturday with final tickets at £20, and a matcha bowl ceramics workshop at Bird and Blend on Tuesday evening if you need something to do with your hands mid-week.

The East Midlands' biggest motor show is back at Wollaton Park with hundreds of classic cars, modern supercars, concept vehicles, motorbikes, buses, trucks, and enough polished chrome to cause temporary sun blindness.
You'll get early 1900s classics parked next to brand new performance cars, plus groups of people crouching slightly to inspect wheels like Formula 1 scouts.
There's family entertainment, a funfair, food stalls and a music marquee running all day too, although somebody in your group will still spend 40 minutes looking at one engine bay with complete emotional commitment.

SCRUMPTIOUS SCOOP
🥩 - Mood - The Menu Starts With Steak And Then Gets Distractingly Good!
📍- 948 Woodborough Road, Mapperley
⏰ - Mon to Thu: 9:00 AM - 10:00 PM
⏰ - Fri to Sat: 9:00 AM - 11:00 PM
⏰ - Sun: 9:00 AM - 10:00 PM
📷 - @moodthecut
Mood is one of those places where you arrive fully committed to ordering a steak and then spend the next ten minutes changing your mind repeatedly.
Angus ribeye, sirloin and fillet come with a choice of five sauces, from peppercorn and mushroom to firecracker, while the Chooza Chicken and Asian fusion menu make a strong case for abandoning your original plan altogether.
Then there are the mocktails. They arrive looking glamorous and immediately have everyone at the table asking for a taste before their own drink has even turned up.
ACTIVITY ALLEY
🕺 - Back to the 80s Summer Tribute Festival - The Music Still Holds Up. The Haircuts Don't.
📍- Binks Yard
📅 - Sat 6th Jun
⏰ - 3:00 PM - 10:00 PM (last entry 8:00 PM)
🎟️ - £20
📷 - @magicdiscouk
An outdoor 80s festival lands at Binks Yard with tribute acts, confetti showers, retro visuals, and a soundtrack packed with the songs that still get an immediate reaction thirty years later.
It sold out earlier this year, came back, and final tickets are now on sale, which tells you everything you need to know about the enduring power of 80s music and questionable dance moves.
There'll be cocktails, prosecco, and a crowd confidently singing every chorus despite not having heard some of them since the last 80s event they swore would be their last.

FRESH EXPERIENCES
🍵 - Matcha Bowl Workshop - Finally, a Use For the Matcha Obsession!
📍 - Bird and Blend Tea Co.
📅 - Tue 2nd Jun
⏰ - 6:15 PM - 8:30 PM
🎟️ - £39pp
📷 - @halloceramics
This workshop at Bird and Blend Tea Co. combines two increasingly popular hobbies into one evening: drinking matcha and talking about ceramics.
Hosted by Heather from Hallo Ceramics, you'll create your own ceramic matcha bowl from scratch, shaping, decorating and personalising it after a live demonstration. There's also a complimentary matcha drink and tasting session at the start, which feels only fair given what you're making.
No experience needed, your bowl gets professionally fired afterwards, and you'll leave with a new appreciation for how difficult it is to make something round.
